f ( 1 ) = 2 - 3 = - 1

f  (4) = 8 - 3 = 5

2 x - 3 = 5

2 x = 5 + 3

2 x = 8

x = 4

f ( 4 ) = 5

f (x) = - 2 x + 7

f ( - 8 ) = 16 + 7 = 23

f ( - 1 ) = 2 + 7 = 9

f ( 3 ) = - 6 + 7 = 1
